#5 | Genetic Algorithm Based Optimization Of PID

This video is related to the tune of PID parameter kp, ki, and kd by using Genetic Algorithm as a solver in the optimization tool. The optimization tool is also one of the applications of MATLAB. The optimization tool is one of the power full tool of MATLAB. Whenever we use the PID controller in a system, the major task for us to optimize or find the best value of kp, ki and kd so the controller works satisfactory for our system. There are many different ways to find the value of these constant like manually, PID tuner, Optimization tool etc. Researchers can use any one of them depend on the problem formulation and limitation of the problem defined. Optimization tool options are modified as per the requirement of the researcher. Many types of solver available as an option. No. of variables also adjusted as per requirement. The choice of Lower and higher value also feasible and depend on task limitations. The optimization process needs an objective function or cost function. Integral Time Absolute Error(ITAE) is one of the options to define the cost function. In most of the case cost function defined to minimize the values of the parameter, to minimize the cost of the system. MATLAB is one of the best tools in the field of research. It's like a pool of knowledge, how much you can go deep that much you learn from it.
