"It's impossible" (my riding journey)

I told everyone I wanted to be a showjumper.. Everyone told me it was impossible. It wasn't. But it's been a long, hard, painful joruney that's still far from finished. I've been pushed to my limits, mentally, emotionally and financially. But it's been proved through my work and dedication that it's not impossible. I started out with a scruffy little pony kept in my back yard where i jumped chairs and trash cans on the road outside my house. It seemed impossible, maybe it was. But I refused to give up on my dreams, I still do.

I'm not where I wish to be, but when I look back at where I came from, I know I've come so far. I never gave up when my horses were injured for months and years, when I fell off all the time, when I was terrified, anxious and scared to death for riding or when I got injured from working with them. Maybe it was impossible, but I made it possible.

I'm not talented. I'm not rich. I'm not lucky. I'm not gifted. The odds were never in my favour.. But I'm dedicated, determined, passionate and hard working and when it comes down to it, thats the most important.

It doesn't matter where you come from, it's no excuse. I made it happen and you can make it happen too. If you don't have the resources to do it, I didn't either. It takes more time, it's harder, sometimes unbearable. But if you never give up you will get there no matter what and it will be so worth it.
