This El Camino is a knockout! It's body off frame restored to show condition. Looking at it is one thing, getting in and shifting the 4-speed with a big block powering it is another thing.

EXTERIOR: I don't think it looked this good when it rolled off the assembly line. The body is absolutely straight. There's no rust, damage or bubbles. It has a cowl induction hood with a working flapper. It was repainted it's original Cortez Silver color. The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished like a mirror. No vinyl top. The stripes are painted on smooth to the touch. It looks like all of the exterior chrome and stainless trim has been replaced. New windshield and back window. The weatherstrips and seals are new. It sits proud on 15x8 Corvette rally wheels with extra shiny trim. BFG tires look like new.

INTERIOR: Sitting inside the car I think I'm in a Chevelle: looking out over the hood I see a cowl induction and there is a Hurst shifter sticking out of the console between the bucket seats. It's all in excellent shape. Down on the floor is new carpet and El Camino floor mats. The seats have been restored and upholstered. New door panels, armrests and window cranks. In front of me the dash is in great shape. It has a retro stereo with an auxiliary plug, kick panel speakers and 6x9s behind the seat with tweeters. Up above the headliner was replaced, the dome light works. It was upgraded with retractable 3-point seat belts.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood sits a correct 396 motor with a complete, functional cowl induction system. It's all stock: manifolds, valve covers, pulleys , brackets etc. It has spring clamp cables, reproduction hoses and clamps. It features power steering and brakes. All the components look clean and proper. The washers are hooked up, it has hood insulation, the horns are hooked up, it has correct fan shroud and an under hood lamp.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed looks like it's never been used. It's straight metal painted Cortez Silver and the clear coat is so glossy it looks wet. The tailgate functions properly, bottom of the tailgate is rust free.

UNDERSIDE: It has been body off restored and detailed underneath. Up front all of the steering and suspension has been rebuilt. In back it has new control arm bushings, springs and KYB gas shocks. The fuel system was replaced. The dual exhaust was replaced and has Raptor mufflers. The brake system was gone through. Lines and e-brake cables were replaced, it has disc in front. Looking up at the motor it's clean Chevy Orange, starter was replaced. It has a correct Muncie 4-speed, we rebuilt the linkage. Original dated and coded to this car 12 bolt rear with 3.31 posi. The floors and braces are all clean metal prepped and painted Cortez Silver, the chassis is painted semi gloss black.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and we replaced the spark plugs and wires, tuned the carb and set the timing. We repaired the reverse lights, rebuilt the shifter and replaced the rods, fuel sending unit, center link and master cylinder.

CONCLUSION: In today's world this would be every bit of a $100,000 restoration! The quality makes it a great value, the fact it's a big block, 4-speed with cowl induction really makes it a no brainer.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
