Lets us take an example of Airline industry. Deccan airways revolutionised the way we travel in India in 2000’s. They made the flight travel accessible to the all the middle class people by reducing the fares to such an extent that people think twice before booking a train ticket or a bus ticket for a long journey. They were able to offer at that price by cutting all the unwanted things. But they were not successful because of this. Since anyone can copy this same model and do it which a lot of people did too. One thing they did was, they marketed this so well that every ad of theirs touched a million hearts of Indians. It had such a strong feeling that it fulfilled every youngster who wanted to take their parents on a flight travel with their first jobs monthly income. They kept on communicating this feeling of making dreams come true of what the middle class aspired to do in the lifetime ( to travel by flight atleast once)This marketing campaign on strong deep desired feelings made them very successful.

Similarly Singapore airlines always created this strong feeling that they make ur journey always personal and special every time u fly with them. This was always their communications. They never spoke about 100s of features they had which others did not have. They always communicated u feel great if u fly with them. That is why they r such a strong brand even today.

Why does boost sells higher than their competitors in chocolate based milk powders? They have always associated their campaign with energy. U feel energetic once u drink it.. U feel like Kapil Dev, Sachin, Shewag or Virat Kohli who stands for high energy. They always made youngsters relate with the Virats energy with theirs.

Similarly Nike always associated themselves with most inspiring wolrd class athletes who took the game to the next level like Micheal Jordan, Roger Fedrer or Tiger woods. These celebrities inspired people from all walks of life. This always made NIKE an inspiring brand.

So I can go on and on.. But the bottom line is when u create certain feelings about your product or services and keep communicatin it time and again in all the platforms where your target audience are, that is when it will leave a lasting impression. The positive side effect of this is very very high unimaginable sales figures.

This is the reason why we go only to certain doctors, we go only to certain shops to buy, we go to certain theatres to watch movies, we goto certain countries again and again, listen to certain people speeches etc
So if ur a silk saree retailer create a feeling of proud or feeling elite, if u r into construction always communicate about the feeling of trust they can have on u, if u r into retail let the personalised service talk about you, if ur into the domain of finance, let ur dharmam, nyayam feelings talk about you, if u r into food business let the quality of food & taste talk about u, if ur into hospitality business or healthcare let them feel that there will always be a personal touch to whatever u offer.

So the summary is get the feeling part right and communicate them consistently at the right place where ur target customers are. This is how u market your product or services successfully. Copy the model of all big companies for you also to become big.
