2016 / 2017 Honda Accord Touring V6 Sedan Review & Tutorial

All Accords benefit from an assortment of suspension tweaks to improve handling for 2016, and the Touring gets further massaging with larger brakes and its own suspension damping. Coupled with a powerful yet oh-so-civilized 278-hp, 3.5-liter V6 and smooth six-speed automatic, the Touring offers strong acceleration, with quick, smooth shifts and a sophisticated engine sound under acceleration.
It turns quickly into corners, with little body lean, and stays well composed even over choppy or broken pavement. And as fun to drive as it is in the twisties, the Accord rides well in normal driving, with good damping over bumps and a tight, quiet, and solid feel overall.

Inside, the Touring sedan gets a comfortable and spacious if not overly luxurious interior, with padded surfaces on the doors, a reasonable facsimile of real wood on the dash, and leather seats that are heated front and rear. Instrument dials are large and easy to read, and controls are within easy reach.
The driver’s seat gets a memory feature and ten ways of adjustment, although the front passenger has to get by with four. While it’s not posh, the cabin has a quality look and feel overall, and is loaded up with pretty much everything you’d expect in an upscale sedan, from dual-zone automatic climate control to voice-controlled navigation, automatic high beams, and a sunroof.

It’s got most everything you’d want, or at least it had better because there are no options and this is as long as the feature list gets in an Accord.

Out back, the trunk is huge, with a wide opening that makes it easier to load larger items. The 60/40 split rear seat backs fold forward when needed, and are great for swallowing up longer gear.
The Accord Touring also comes with the Honda Sensing suite of electronic safety features, including lane departure and forward collision warnings, a lane keeping system, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, and road departure mitigation to nudge a wandering driver back onto the road.
