It is a prerequisite to have an awareness/knowledge of the various inflammatory/immune cells and their function, in order to comprehend the pathology of (inflammatory and auto-immune) oral diseases. Remember, that the functions of lymphocytes can be complex and dynamic. However, we are going to restrict our discussion to important snippets of information (further reading for more details is recommended). When armed with this knowledge, comprehension of pathology of various inflammatory or auto-immune diseases becomes easier. The video is an attempt to simplify the concepts around lymphocytes and give an overview on how this knowledge could help understand pathogenesis of some important oral lesions.
