Looking Back, Looking Forward: 100 Years of the Arab-Israeli Conflict, a conference hosted by the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Nov. 2, 1917 signing of the Balfour Declaration, a landmark document that called for the establishment of a national home for Jewish people. One hundred years after the Balfour Declaration, what are the futures of Israel and Palestine? The conference brought together top scholars and public figures as they debated what kind of states should Israelis and Palestinians seek and how these competing visions inform their approach to the conflict.

Ziad Asali is the President and founder of the American Task Force on Palestine.

George Bisharat has been the Honorable Raymond L. Sullivan Professor of Law at UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco since 1991.

This conference was recorded on September 10, 2017.
