get rid of chicken mites with simple green and wood ash

so we got mites in our chicken coops again, and since its been a busy summer i didnt catch them very quick and there were alot of them. in the past we have used a commercial "poultry protector" spray, diatemacious earth, dawn and water, and bathed the chickens in dawn and water. none of that seemed to work all that well. this time I used simple green concentrate spray on the roosting bars, and walls of the coop and nesting boxes, followed by an inch thick layer of wood ash from my shop wood stove on the bottom of the nesting boxes and maybe a 3 pound coffee can of ash on the floor of the main coop, and the next day there were almost no mites at all. so it appears that the simple green spray and wood ash is magical and works amazingly well on chicken mites. http://caltoncutlery.com
