How to install new macOS updates, on an old mac

Internet (WiFi or Ethernet both work)
Mac
16GB or larger USB drive
64GB or larger HDD/SSD in mac
Patience

In this video, I use OpenCore Legacy Patcher to update my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro from macOS Catalina, up to macOS Sonoma. OpenCore Patcher is fairly easy to use.
