What’s something new that you recently learned about yourself? ✨

I recently started therapy to help me with fully pursuing dance/modeling and with forming relationships.

What I learned from my first session is that I have a “slow to warmup” personality. It takes me meeting someone many times and on a reoccurring basis to feel comfortable and myself around them. I’m realizing this is why making friends as an adult can be a bit difficult for me. Most of my closest friendships are with people I went to school with and was on dance team with so I was seeing them almost everyday for an extended period of time which allowed me to gradually warm up and get to know them.

I’m also seeing that this is why dating apps can be hard for me, they make me feel a sense of pressure to move at an increased pace but in regards to my most successful romantic relationship we were first friends for a year.

In this case, having a label of slow to warmup is very helpful in understanding myself.
