This morning I decided to invite the family over for a simple lunch at our place near the city 🌿
Nothing fancy at all, just home food, fresh air, and a calm day.
I made two Iranian favorites: Fesenjan and Mirza Ghasemi, with plain rice and fresh local radishes on the side.
For Fesenjan, I used some ground walnuts I had in the freezer, local sour plums, onion, a bit of turmeric, salt, pepper, a pinch of saffron, and chicken. I let it cook slowly until it got nice and thick and full of flavor.
For Mirza Ghasemi, I used fire-roasted local eggplants, garlic, eggs, one small tomato, oil, and salt. Simple ingredients, but so comforting.
I also made some homemade pickles with local vegetables, sea salt, dried herbs, and homemade vinegar — just mixed and left to rest naturally.
Between cooking, I spent time in the yard watching the chickens, ducks, cows, and cats. These little moments always make me feel close to nature.
After lunch, we had tea, some sweets, seeds, and fruit, watched a movie, and just enjoyed being together.
I really love days like this — slow, simple, and peaceful 🤍
Thanks for watching. If you enjoy this kind of simple countryside life near the city, feel free to share your thoughts.
