The Auto-volume on this thing will make everything louder as your environment gets louder (like getting on the freeway) which works great because you don't have to constantly change volume manually. This also means that "max volume" while sitting still or testing in your living room is NOT ITS TRUE MAX VOLUME. If you want to be able to hit true max volume at anytime, without loud ambient noise, turn the feature off. This kills the auto adjusting obviously, but gives you full control of volume at any time....
