Bahawalpur Punjab Pakistan describes that Injuries to the eye can happen at home, in the workplace, or during outdoor activities
Foreign objects (such as grit, a loose eyelash or a contact lens) that lie on the eye's surface can easily be rinsed out. Sharp fragments like metal or glass may cut or penetrate the eye and become embedded. If this is the case, the person should not attempt to remove the object but cover the eye and seek medical help as soon as possible.
It is advised not to rub the eye as this could worsen it. If
If you can see something on the surface of the cornea or conjunctiva, ask the person to bend their head backwards and wash it out by pouring clean water.
If this doesn’t work and the object is still on the surface of the eye, try not to remove it with a piece of gauze or paper as it may cause corneal infection, corneal opacity and even endophthalmitis and loss of vision. Eye injury depends upon the type of object hitting the eye, which may be small or large and the force and speed of the object, and the object may be sharp or blunt. One must also see whether the patient is having pain, or bleeding from the wound, can see or not, so depending on the condition and severity of the injury, one must send the person to the hospital or eye doctor. If there is bleeding on the surface of the eye and there is no pain and you nd can see well, then, no worry, it will dissolve within a week or so.
