Описание к видео SPE Café - Building a Sustainable and Inclusive Food System in Canada

00:00 - Event introduction
05:35 - Dr. Blay-Palmer and Dr. Korzun discussion
28:29 - Audience Q&A

This is the first half of our SPE Café held on March 22nd, 2023, which features a discussion between Dr. Alison Blay-Palmer and Dr. Monika Korzun. This was followed by café-style discussions, which were not recorded. The event was introduced and organized by Farzaneh Barak.

Event description:
Our food system faces multiple challenges, ranging from climate change to inflation to unequal accessibility and systemic discriminations. Our invited speaker, Dr. Alison Blay-Palmer, current holder of the UNESCO Chair on Food, Biodiversity and Sustainability Studies and founding director of the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems, discussed ways to improve the Canadian food system with our moderator Dr. Monika Korzun, a postdoctoral fellow in sustainable agriculture at Dalhousie University. The talk was followed by small group discussions between audience members. A report will be written to highlight the key policy recommendations to improve our food system that emerged during the Café.

To help with the discussion, we wrote a policy brief that provides some context and key questions on the topic. You can find it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yxmW...
