Hey everyone! Ok so welcome to my first ever Youtube video whoop whoop!
I'm so excited because I've recently moved into a new costuming studio which I absolutely love, and I wanted to bring you along with me whilst I set everything up. This is where all the magic happens, and where I create all my pieces.

A little bit about me and my work…

My name is Meg and I'm a costume designer and maker, based in the north of the UK. I love all things fantasy and history, and love to create one of a kind costumes from my studio in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. 
I'm a nature lover and super passionate about all things sustainability, so I specialise in creating historical costumes and fantasy fashion made almost entirely from reclaimed and second hand materials. Coming from a working class background, I've learnt to be resourceful in how I create my art, and I truly believe that magic can be created from the mundane, if you can train your eye to see the potential in unwanted materials.

The costuming/dressmaking world can often feel overwhelming and in-accessible to those on a smaller budget or without professional training. My goal is to inspire you to create without boundaries or conventional thinking, and to simply 'have a go' with whatever you have. Costuming is all about self-expression, storytelling, and connection, and it should be fun above all else!
