Introduction to Kant's Critique of Pure Reason (Part 2 of 4)

Описание к видео Introduction to Kant's Critique of Pure Reason (Part 2 of 4)

In loving memory of Lawrence Pasternack (1967-2024): a great teacher, person, and Kantian Scholar.

I review some important vocab and historical context. In the next video, I will introduce the specifics of some of his arguments in the first section of the Critique (Transcendental Aesthetic).

An "easy" way to understand Kant's Project in the Critique of Pure Reason.
Recommended reading: I don't recommend reading the primary source alone, even the most intelligent person will need a commentary/secondary source. For the person who is simply seeking a decent intro to Kant, I recommend Durant's History of Philosophy or the section on Kant in Coppleston's History of Philosophy. Coppleston's Section on Kant (about 100 pages) is thorough. If you would like to read CPR because you are a grad student or highly interested, I recommend the Smith translation and the commentary by Routledge/Gardner.
