While recommending specific diet for Osteoarthritis or what we call as the sandigatahvata what we call in Ayurveda, we recommend that any food that aggravates gas formation in the body, such as starchy food such as potato and sprouted grains and any food that is gas forming must be avoided and also acidic food such as any food that is sour taste such as tomato and tamarind which triggers inflammation in the body must be avoided because we see a connection in the people who consume such kinds of foods, there will be a drastic increase in the pain level and yet another very important food that must be avoided in sandigathavata is curd because curd can trigger inflammation and also it can trigger indigestion in the body because the toxins circulate and accumulates in the joints and even though we are treating and even though we are doing several Ayurevdic panchakarma therapies, but the intake of such foods can slow down the healing process in Osteoarthritis.
