Bow thrusters come in all shapes and sizes and they're the device that moves the bows of the boat laterally through the water.. so very handy when you're coming into marinas or manoeuvre in tight spaces. There used to be a time when bow thrusters were seen as an unnecessary luxury, particularly on smaller modern boats, but heavy cruisers like Amel Super Maramus, in particular, with the heavy keels - they're pretty much essential!
