Situated in the famous Bogra district and widely regarded as one of the country’s prime tourist destinations, Mahasthangarh dates as far back as the third century, BC.

Archaeological evidence suggests that Mahasthangarh was a provincial capital for the Maurya, Gupta and Pala Hindu Empires.

There also exists the Mazar of Fakir Shah Sultan Balkhi Mahisawar who had been responsible for converting the people of the area to Muslims.

The currently existing ruins of the ancient citadel speak the tales of 2,500 years’ worth of vivid history.
