We see these WW2 vets today as very senior citizens, Its important to remember they were once young and vibrant, and they gave their youth and many their lives for this country and life as we know it today.This is A tribute to all those Veterans who fought the Nazis in Europe and the Japanese soldiers in the Pacific Theater. Including our troops on the home front who supported America's efforts in world war 2, across the globe. The heroes of the US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, and US Coast Guard. In WW2, this generation was united not only by a common purpose, but also by common values --duty, honor, economy, courage, service, love of family and country, and, above all, responsibility.
At a time in their lives when their days and nights should have been filled with innocent adventure, love, and the workaday world, they were fighting in the most primitive conditions possible across the bloodied landscape of France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, and the coral islands of the Pacific.
During World War 2, 464 United States military personnel received the Medal of Honor, 266 of them posthumously. Today approximately 850 American World War II veterans die every day. We owe them more them more than we car ever say.
