Holy Cow - this man is the real Deal! I know Doug MacLoad as a musician since many years but never saw a live performance of him. Man, he blows me away in a strictly positive way. He is not only a great guitar player, not only a good singer. What me also impressed was his storytelling. About meetings with old blues musicians like Son Seals, George Harmonica Smith. And his simple but affective views of life and relationships. It was a sunday afternoon with blues songs, Hill Country Blues songs, sad songs, songs about women and crackers in the bed, songs about love and lost and over all a big smile on Dougs face. The crowd was quiet and you could hear every single note.
This concert saved my day. I`m still in grief about the lost of my cat and his music is the blues, everyone knows the power of the blues. It is said that it can heal. Well, I can smile again.
