Ace Driver: Victory Lap | Streamfield Circuit | Expert-Pro Class M.T. | MAME

Here is one of my favourite Arcade Racing titles released by Namco in 1995/1996 exclusively for Arcades, it is a sequel to Ace Driver or known as Ace Driver: Racing Evolution. Ace Driver suprisingly has a realistic handling model for a game of this age and kind, which changes depending on the difficulty class you choose. For example; Beginner Class has limited speed with what seems to be Full Traction Control and Anti-Locking Brakes while Expert has higher speed and Expert-Pro has even higher speed with no Traction Control or Anti Locking Brakes, this can make for some pretty challenging but rewarding gameplay. Ace Driver simulates suspension travel, bumps, oversteer & understeer quite accurately which may come a shock to people first trying out this game, it is difficult but always a blast to play and master. Unfortunately the Ace Driver series seems to be forgotten about by Bandai Namco, and with no home conversions of either Ace Driver, emulation is the only way to preserve this timeless Namco classic. Fans of this genre should definitley check it out.
