Nisha Biswal, Partner at the Washington DC-based think tank The Asia Group and former Assistant Secretary at the US State Department, spoke to Nayanima Basu for 'The Gist' on StratNewsGlobal on what lies ahead for New Delhi and Washington as far as the proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) is concerned, which has come under a massive diplomatic row between both countries over US' role in Operation Sindoor and its support for Pakistan.

Biswal, who was also the chief of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, told StratNewsGlobal that until and unless there is an understanding at the level of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump the current impasse will continue. Progress can only be achieved only when the two leaders arrive at a win-win equation.
