Fight Night Champion Straight Spam Counter - The step back spammers.
This video covers dealing with several fight night champion owc straight spam styles commonly found online in OWC.

The key is to keep your stamina in the 90s (especially at heavyweight) into the mid rounds while making the opponent miss punches.

We do this by keeping our stepping, head movement and any un-needed movement or missed punches to a minimum. Meanwhile we are going to feint our opponent and jab his body.

If the step spammer opponent is highly susceptible to the feints, which they often are because they rely on timing, we will throw more feints than jabs.

Feint, feint, feint until they wise up.

We will jab the body with our jab hand on the same side as their straight punch side as our jab will most often go under their straight, thus creating a counter punch.

Orthodox vs orthodox, southpaw vs southpaw. Remember, if you switch stances the power will still be there.

A high level body jab from the orthodox stance will be a high level straight body punch if you switch to the southpaw stance.

Later in the fight (round 6-7) the opponent should begin to tire and then we will open up with more aggression.

If the opponent shells up later in the fight, which they often will due to being tired from missing and having so many straights countered, we will push him using the LB button (top right button) on Play Station controllers to force him to fight.

Never let an opponent stand right next to you waiting for you to throw. If you do throw, make it a single shot without moving the left stick you don't move towards him, be ready for the back step straight to come.
Ideally, you want to push them off and keep them off balance.

Learn the technique of countering the push yourself by flicking the left stick toward the opponent when he pushes you, which they probably will if you push them.

The real key is to just chill out early in the fight and make them jump around, miss punches and think they are eventually going to land their nonsense gimmick. The jabs to the body and all the missed punches will get them eventually.

My other video, "how to counter step back straights" compliments this video as the technique to use when you punch is very similar with the exception of the jab.

When we jab their body, we want long single or perhaps double jabs preferably using the stick instead of the buttons.

Don't throw jabs when too close as it just smothers your punch, when you feel the controller vibrate, that's the good distance. The closer to the end of your punch the better.

When you get their distance down a few rounds in the fight, you can throw some power jabs to the body as well. Sometimes you can gas an inexperienced spammer with that punch alone.

Throwing 3-4 jabs in a row will just waste your stamina and open you up to a step back straight counter. If they start uppercutting, let them, just throw your body jab after you feint them.

Thanks for watching and take care.
