First band group of Shams Central College performing Sri Lanka National Anthem during

Past Pupils’ Association of Shams Central College, Maruthamunai (SPPA) with the partnership of their Colombo Branch organized the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony on Saturday, 30th April 2016 from 4PM on wards at the College Open Square. The event was named as “Shams Day 2016” under the theme “Connect Shamsians back to their root”. The event was presided by principal and the president of the Past Pupils’ Association Mr. SMM. Ameer (SLEAS).
Over 2500 past students graced this event and more than 200 students were selected to honor at the event, who had excelled high in academic and non-academic events and brought glory to school during the academic Year 2015. Additionally, the current teachers of the school were also honored during the event for their immense contribution to the school development.
Engineer MSM. Fazeel (Secretary, SPPA) and Engineer NM. Jaufer (Senior Guidance committee member of SPPA, Colombo branch) regulated the event to a success.
