Drake Bay - Costa Rica's Most Adventurous Corner | Osa Peninsula Travel

Описание к видео Drake Bay - Costa Rica's Most Adventurous Corner | Osa Peninsula Travel

Drake Bay and the Osa Peninsula features some of the most undisturbed nature of Costa Rica. Here you can find Corcovado National Park, the biggest national park in Costa Rica, and Isla del Caño with its excellent reefs.

Drake Bay was named after Sir Francis Drake, and there are rumours that he buried a treasure somewhere in Drake Bay. Even if you don't find any pirate treasures, this is still a magnificent place to visit, featuring a pleasant little town, wonderful beaches, and undisturbed lowland rainforests.

Corcovado National Park features lots of animal and plant life. You can find the four different types of Costa Rican monkeys here, as well as jaguars and ozelots, and the tapir - the biggest land animal in Costa Rica. In this video I show you what you can find in the national park and tell you interesting anecdotes - and of some of the dangers.

A trip to Isla del Caño is perfect for anyone with an interest in diving or snorkeling. The coral reefs there are some of the best in Costa Rica, and the marine life is abundant. Sharks, turtles, rays, and tons of fish of various species can be found. You may also see whales on the way there.

In this video I also show you the town of Drake Bay itself, and talk about how to get to the Osa Peninsula from the town of Sierpe. Make sure you take the boat from Sierpe dock through mangrove rivers to get to Drake Bay - it's a whole experience by itself.
