Scotland’s Coal – Life after Extraction?

Описание к видео Scotland’s Coal – Life after Extraction?

Here is a truly exciting opportunity to deliver a unique natural rock laboratory for Industry and University training and research in Carboniferous rocks, exploiting the man-made landscapes that are a legacy of opencast mining operations in Scotland. The British Geological Survey (BGS http://www.bgs.ac.uk) are working together with the Scottish Mines Restoration Trust (SMRT http://www.smrtrust.org/) to facilitate communities and other stakeholders in bringing together viable restoration plans for the former opencast coal site at Spireslack, near Muirkirk in East Ayrshire. BGS will deliver the strategic geological baseline knowledge to underpin these efforts.
