Meet Ivo Runčák (23) from Bratislava, Slovakia 🇸🇰
Ivo’s experience with Depersonalization / Derealization Disorder began on what seemed like a normal night out with friends. After a few beers, he took a single puff from a HHC vape — a substance that’s recently become popular across Europe.

That puff triggered a sudden panic attack, hallucinations, and severe anxiety. He spent the night on a friend’s couch — and by the next morning, he was in full-blown DPDR. 😵‍💫

Ivo went through two intense bouts of DPDR. The first lasted about a week. But the second — which began three months later — stretched on for over a year. In total, his recovery journey took around 15 months.
