A well kept but ultimately boring backyard transformed into a beautiful and productive DIY raised bed garden - that's the story of our first year since moving into our new countryside home.

Follow along as we build DIY raised beds, shovel 40 tonnes of soil using an excavator/bobcat, start seeds, build trellises, care for our plants, harvest our vegetables and fruits and preserve some of them for long-term storage.

This year on our suburban homestead we grew onions, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, spinach, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, green and red cabbage, butternut & hokkaido squash, leeks, corn, cucumbers, beans, peas, beetroot, salad, coriander, parsley, nasturtium, sunflowers, strawberries, cherries, pears, blueberries.
