The 9th Charnel might have been a solid title if it knew what it was doing. But that's not the case here, and the gameplay and story on offer here suffer for it. It's a survival horror experience that leaves you more mildly amused than actually scared for your life.

That's an absurd way to feel about a game but this one manages that feat quite early on in its runtime. This title needed more time on the drawing board and in the shop before it hit the shelves, and as such, is a hard sell even if you're just looking for a title that's so bad it's good.

Michael and Jacus' story isn't compelling enough for me to recommend, and the scary ravine is nothing more than a decoration and narrative prop. This one's a pass for us.
