The Sole CC81 Cardio Climber works your entire body while strengthening your cardiovascular system. It also provides a low-impact workout that minimizes the stress on your joints.

It’s larger than other climbers on the market but smaller than most ellipticals. It’s 86” tall so height is the biggest factor to consider, as it might not work best if you have low ceilings. It also doesn’t fold, but can be moved around easily. There are 2 wheels on the front stabilizer and a handle on the rear stabilizer.

The Cardio Climber is weighted in the center which helps keep it still and planted to the floor when in use. With speed, it can shake slightly. The handles work in conjunction with the pedals to move in a vertical motion. You can get a full-body workout, or do targeted training by isolating your upper and lower body, depending on if you push through the pedals or handles more.

The handles also can be moved up and down to accommodate users of all sizes. We really like that you can adjust the handles to point towards you or point outwards while in use. This way, you can target different muscle groups in your upper body. The handles also have a nice coating that doesn’t feel sticky or slippery when you get sweaty.

The Sole CC81 has a step-up height of about 10” from the lowest pedal to the floor, making it easy to get on and off. Users with mobility and balance issues might have some trouble, however.

The pedals are 15” long and were developed with a physical therapist to have a 2-degree inward slope to minimize the stress on the ankles and knees. The stride length from the pedals moving up and down is about 12”, so you’ll get a great low impact lower body workout.

The console is pretty straightforward and lower-tech. The screen displays your workout metrics, onboard workout options, and your heart rate when you’re wearing the included chest strap. In addition to manual mode, there are 5 other modes that have preset resistance levels so the machine will adjust as you go, but you can adjust the CC81 yourself too. There’s also a device rack so you can use your phone or tablet. Sole now has a streaming app for on-demand trainer-led classes. It’s called STUDIO and it’s completely optional to use with the Cardio Climber.

If you’re looking for a low-impact total body workout machine that takes up less space than an elliptical and makes minimal noise, check out the Sole CC81 Cardio Climber.
