I was browsing Aliexpress shortly after New Years and decided to buy the cheapest clays I could find. I was curious to see how well they compare to the other brands I use. To my surprise, most of these were actually very effective and easy to use. So if you don't mind long shipping times and a tiny bit of risk (eg one clay that came dried up) then Aliexpress is a great place for bargain craft supplies.

CAT CLAY

Fluffy texture designed for cakes, cookies or bread
Medium elasticity
Easy to texture
Difficult to smooth with water. Tends to dissolve into a white paper fibre residue

MONSTER CLAY

Not very elastic but surprisingly stable when pressed very flat
Easy to texture
Best all-rounder budget clay and good value for money for large packaging size

CHICKEN CLAY

Extremely elastic, can be stretched into strings
Dries very quickly
Texture similar to foam rubber
Very difficult to texture

SMALL CLAY

Very similar to monster clay but in smaller packaging
Slightly more elastic
Extremely good for making thin flower petals
One clay arrived completely dried up
