Glasgow’s Braehead Clan’s season ended in disappointment as Dundee Stars claimed a 6-1 aggregate win to book their place in the final four in Nottingham next week.

Clan had to weather some early Dundee pressure as they looked to get the goal that would probably kill the tie off.

The home team started to find their way into the game and Craig Peacock was first to test Stars’ goalie Joe Fallon with an early effort.

Michal Zajkowski was also challenged up the other end as he successfully a powerful effort from Scott Brannon, before Kyle Wharton saw his blue line effort saved.

Another save from Clan’s goalie came about as Cale Tanaka set up Kevin Bruijsten, with the one-time effort successfully blocked by the Swede.

Justin Faryna went close in the second period as his close range shot was blocked, with Brett Switzer also seeing a chance gloved by Zajkowski.

Braehead enjoyed more of the possession in the opposition end, but just couldn’t find a way through as Fallon and his defence stayed strong.

However the task was to get harder for the Clan when Faryna was in the right place to turn in an effort from Bruijsten in front of the crease and Dundee were ahead.

Clan turned up the heat as they needed a reaction, with Harry Quast, Peacock and Stefan Della Rovere all stinging Fallon’s gloves, but the goal remained intact.

Dundee however got the goal they needed to kill off the tie as Joey Sides finished off a solo effort to punch their ticket for Nottingham.

Then the Stars captain turned provider to set up Kevin Hart, who smashed a shot past Zajkowski to kick off Dundee’s celebrations as Clan saw their campaign in disappointing fashion.
