This is my best ever attempt at Lead side of this song. Normally I would be a bit less excited about a mere 0.2% accuracy but in this case I went from 98.8% accuracy previous best, up to 99.0% Accuracy on this attempt and that is all I wanted. I tried this one three or four times in the past two days trying to do just that. Two of those attempts were not last night but the night before that and near the end of practice so I was tired and so it's unsurprising that I failed to get it on one of those. I decided I would come back to it the following day which was last night.

I don't recall if it was actually on my first or on a second attempt that I landed this score. What I do know is that it was not a pure start to finish attempt if it was the first one. What I mean by that is often I'll start the song and f**k something up 1/4 or 1/3 of the way through and restart. There are times I'll do that a half-dozen or more times before I go the entire way through. I didn't do more than a time or two, if at all, before I landed this one last night, that much I know. It's not really all that relevant or an issue either way, I'm simply trying to be as accurate in describing how I got here as I can recall.

I really love this song quite a lot and I already had the 99% on the Rhythm side so I've been aiming for the Lead side as well for quite some time now. Volbeat leads tend to be (generally speaking) not very easy, especially for somebody as amateur as I am at this. For that reason, every one I manage to get a decent score on is a very big deal to me. I have 9 bands that I call "My Favorite Band" because I refuse to place one in front of another but Volbeat was the 3rd band that I found which made that list. Rob Caggiano is one of my biggest inspirations to learn to play and this would have been his part. To get a 99% on anything that dude played is HUGE for me personally. I'm really happy about this one but I'll keep working toward that 100%... Which I surmise will take me a while and that's fine by me. I'm having the time of my life just working on getting there.
