Why I’m Using Topaz Video AI To Upscale & Denoise Footage

Recently on a shoot in Mozambique for a factual TV show called ‘Guardians’ we ran into an issue where a lot of our HD wildlife stock footage, shot by Director Sean Viljoen, wasn’t looking too great when cut with the 4K footage we were shooting on location. Some seemed like it was at a lower resolution and most of it was quite noisy. As all our deliverables to EarthX TV were 4K, I mentioned to Sean that I had Topaz Video AI, so it would be interesting to see what it could do with the wildlife stock footage in terms of upscaling and denoising it - fortunately it worked a treat!
