Sirimani Waterfall and Kiga Temple

Описание к видео Sirimani Waterfall and Kiga Temple

Sirimani waterfall is located on western ghat mountains about 20 kms from Sringeri and 5 kms from Kiga. While going to Sringeri, we took a diversion towards left in order to visit this waterfall. There is motorable road upto the fall. But the road from Kiga to Sirimani is very narrow, zig zag and broken. Driving is difficult and risky at this place.

There is a ticket counter near the waterfall. The ticket was 10 rs per head. After the ticket counter you have to go down about 100 mtrs on rocks to reach to the water. The waterfall was amazing. There was plenty of water because of rainy season. The whole area was looking foggy with water particles. It was difficult to take photos and videos as the camera was getting wet within seconds. We had to immediately cover the lens after taking minimum pictures. It was enormous noise from the force of water. The best part of it is that you can go close to the water. The sceneries were wild and it was a great adventure to go near the water. Some people were bathing in water. However, we got totally wet even without bathing.

While coming back from Sirimani waterfall we halted at Kiga. Kiga is in between Sirimani fall and Sringeri. Kiga is famous for Rishyasringeswar temple. Rishyasringeswar is another name of Lord Shiva. This is quite a big temple. As beause it is remotely located in a village, there are not too many visitors. But the the temple is quite big and famous. Lot of people visit the temple on specific festival days. You can see Sirimani waterfall and Kiga temple in this video. After visiting this place we proceeded towards Sringeri.
