Cameron Clark kicked a 38-yard field goal on an untimed down to give North Gwinnett a 19-17 victory over Colquitt Co. in the 7-A finals and its first ever state championship. Clark’s kick came after the Packers were called for pass interference on the game’s final play, giving the Bulldogs one last chance at victory. North Gwinnett lost its season opener but won its final 14 in a row. Colquitt had taken the lead with :48 seconds remaining on a 13-yard pass from Ryan Fitzgerald to Josh Hadley. The Bulldogs drove down the field with the aid of four Packer penalties to give Clark, who had missed an earlier point after, the chance for redemption.
