It was nicknamed the Spirit Frequency.

Despite the attempt to outlaw the experience, it was widely embraced by those who encountered it. Though for now it remained a fringe element. Experiments were made to deliver the experience to larger groups of individuals. Pirate broadcasts delivered a new, more powerful signal.

They came to the desert in droves to commune with the infinite. To join the gestalt. The everything.

To transmit this experience to willing minds was one thing. But the people who most needed to hear it were blocked. Experiments were devised to increase the power, the mistake was to believe it could be forced.

Tone Quest is an illustrated story and concept album of instrumental music. The term Illustrumentals is coyly proffered as an explanation for something that grew naturally out of creative necessity.
