Here is another early Capitol Record, from Les Paul and his then wife, Mary Ford. While both played guitars as a live act, most of their recorded output was created by Les Paul, overdubbing guitar parts and manipulating voices with varispeed controls.

Paul was far ahead of his time, and essentially invented modern, multi-track recording. Les Paul is also well-known for contributing to the invention of the electric guitar, as well as helping to design the eponymous Gibson Les Paul electric guitar.
