The late Abdelkebir Chohad was born in February 1962 in the village of Ighil Ibrkak in the Asafin community of the Tata province. He was a poet skilled in rhyming and prose. He lived in his hometown until he crossed all the wheels of Amazigh poetry, in addition to his belonging to the citadel of poetry and its original source. Moulay Abdelkebir became a professional in rhyming when he was young. He moved to... For a period, he traveled to Casablanca to join his brother, Moulay Ali. During that period, he practiced trade in the cities of Casablanca, Meknes, and Rabat.
In 1987, Moulay Abdelkebir Chohad joined the Azmaz Group. Through the years he spent with Azmaz, he showed that he is an artist of the great caliber. After the Azmmar experience and after a period of rest, he resumed his artistic journey and released his solo work under the name Moulay Abdelkebir Azmaz.
In 1990, he and Moulay Ibrahim Askran founded the Abarkak group. It continued until the end of 1995, when, at the suggestion of Ibrahim Askran, Moulay Abdelkebir Chouhad joined the Arshach group, replacing the great artist, the late Abdelaziz El Harras. He was the best successor to the best predecessor.
It was a very strong beginning, and who among us does not remember his voice in the song Tikka La Mot La Fard, where he eulogized the late Aziz. He also recorded an album with some members of the Arshash group under the name Ait Oumark in 1997.
Moulay Abdelkebir has produced several productions from the Ahwach school, and he is accompanied by great Asaïs poets such as Ali Baydni, Outata Abed, Azoulidh, and others. He also gave the art of Ahouach N Abarkak a prominent position in performance and melody. She is the person who owned the hearts of lovers of fine Amazigh art. Humility represented in the form of a man. A poet who earned the respect of his listeners and interlocutors in the fields of poetry. A poet with a musical sense, a singer par excellence, and distinguished by a very distinctive, melodious voice.
