The Real Group is a Swedish a cappella ensemble founded in 1984. Known for their unique blend of jazz, pop, and classical influences, they have gained international recognition for their innovative vocal arrangements and harmonies. The group was originally formed by students at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and they have continued to evolve over the decades.

Their music is characterized by vocalese techniques, where instrumental sounds are mimicked using only voices, creating a rich and dynamic soundscape. Inspired by artists like Bobby McFerrin, The Real Group incorporates elements of improvisation into their performances, making each rendition distinct and engaging.

Over the years, they have performed more than 2,000 concerts worldwide, including a notable appearance at the 2002 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Seoul, South Korea. In 1993, they collaborated with Anni-Frid Lyngstad of ABBA to perform an a cappella version of "Dancing Queen" for Queen Silvia of Sweden’s 50th birthday celebration.

Their discography includes albums such as Debut (1987), Nothing But the Real Group (1989), Röster (1991), The Real Thing (2003), and The Real Album (2009). The group continues to push the boundaries of vocal music, inspiring new generations of a cappella performers.
