The Tour du Mont Blanc hike is an incredible loop that circumnavigates the famous Mont Blanc peak. AllTrails logs the route at 102 miles (164 km), 34,212 ft elevation gain (10,427 m), and equivalent elevation loss. The circuit is traditionally completed in 11 states (days), with rest days added in as you desire. We completed the circuit in 8 days, with one of those being a rest day. Our route was determined by the huts that were available at the time, so when you see the stats below for each day just know that is not the only way you can complete this trek.

Ok now for our entire route... We started and ended in Chamonix and I would highly recommend that as your start/end point. It is the most lively town on the whole route and very worth it to stay before and after the trek!

You can book the huts online through www.montourdumontblanc.com . If you don't want to do the entire TMB loop, you can choose to stay for just a few nights!

A few of the huts said that bed bugs can sometimes be an issue on the TMB. We did not not encounter any along the way. When you stay at the huts, you bring your own sleeping sack + pillowcase since they don't wash the linens every night.

Cost breakdown 1 person in USD...

lodging: $618 for 7 nights (5 huts, 2 nights in apartment)
food: $296 (snacks/lunches/restaurants)
transportation: $80 (3 gondolas, 1 shuttle, 1 train)
baggage: $162 (storage + last min shipping for 1 bag)

Water situation? I brought a 1L nalgene and a 0.5L water bladder. I did not bring a water filter as it's typically not recommended. There are many potable water springs along the route and through the towns, but there were a few situations where we ended up having to buy (EXPENSIVE) water at a hut. I would recommend bringing a water filter just for backup. It is noted not to drink the glacial water without filtering due to the high amount of sediment.
