Syrian refugees evacuate after Israel drops leaflets over a village in southern Lebanon

Lebanese media reported on Sunday that Israeli forces dropped leaflets urging families to evacuate Wazzani and surrounding areas of southern Lebanon.

However, the Israeli army stated it was unaware of any leaflets being dropped Wazzani, calling it a “unilateral initiative by Regional Brigade 769.” The army has launched an investigation into the “unusual incident,” clarifying that there is no official evacuation order for residents of southern Lebanon.
This marks the first time in 11 months of cross-border clashes between Hezbollah and Israel, linked to the Gaza war, that Israelis have instructed south Lebanon residents to evacuate.

The Wazzani area consists mainly of tents housing displaced people, primarily Syrian refugees, rather than permanent homes.
