Trying to hack the FFXIV Elpis flower with a remote-controlled color changing LED

The current Elpis flower only flashes white. This is my attempt to get at a color-changing remote-controlled #elpis Flower. Using an individual LED part (balloon/water immersible LED) obtained off Amazon (that came with its own remotes), I took it apart and am using it. This is a partial continuation from the earlier video dissecting the flower (   • Dissecting the Elpis Flower  ).


This fix did end up requiring some minor hacking at the interior by filing or pulling away some small plastic pegs used to stabilize binding of interior pieces to each other. A smaller LED might not require the same steps!

This method has now been tried twice so think it's replicable. Also there are some other LED options out there and look forward to seeing what other crafters do! (If they post theirs, will edit in that information as I honestly expect there to be alot of variation in terms of what you can buy online.)

Sorry for initial video quality as using an old desktop webcam and switched to my phone cam for last two segments. Yes, on my list - get a new webcam or camera for my odd crafting/handiwork!

Edit: If you dont' want to cut up the LED positive terminal, I have tested these nickel strips and they'll do just fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
