As the sun rises eastward and the sea of clouds surges, on the edge of the Lijiang River, in front of the Royal Palace,we walk through Guilin Office of the 18th National Revolutionary Army Group, and take a boat in the Mulong lake.

We can appreciate the bamboo rafts which swim in the lake. We look at the fishermen and children playing by the lake. We enjoy the endless spring in Guilin, Guangxi.

Through the cave, we proceed to the Mulong lake at No.10 Dongzhen Road, Diecai District, Guilin city to explore the secret of the Mulong ancient pagoda, which has experienced tremendous trials and hardships .

According to the stele in front of the pagoda, the Mulong ancient pagoda is 4.34 meters high. It is a Lama style pagoda and is located on the natural frog stone of Linjiang rock.

There is a Song Dynasty inscription on Linjiang rock: "Under the riverside rock,we can visit the Tang Dynasty pagoda, see sails, sand birds, the best rivers and mountains". We can infer that the Mulong pagoda should be built in the Tang Dynasty.

We stand in front of the pagoda, close our eyes, and present the most real appearance of Mulong ancient pagoda in our mind.

The ancient pagoda is composed of a three-layer drum stone base, a bottle shaped pagoda body, and a 12 layer stone wheel stacked tower neck.The stone drum wall is carved with lotus patterns, just like the lotus petal throne of Buddha. There are niches on all sides of the stone wall.The East and West niches are carved with Buddha statues, and the South and North niches are carved with Bodhisattvas.The statues of Bodhisattvas and Buddhas are all exquisitely depicted with a kind and peaceful manner, and all sit on the lotus seat leisurely.The stone on the tower is engraved with the characters "Buddha", "Namo Amitabha" , "the Shurangama Sutra","Saddharma-pundarika-sutra"and so on.

There is also a passage written on June 11, the sixth year of Tongzhi. Looking at these words, we have mixed feelings unconsciously.We look back at the Mulong pagoda standing in front of us. It has a gourd top, a niche of Buddha and Bodhisattva, a stone base and a square pagoda base.We take a look at the dense woods around the pagoda. There are people coming and going in front of the pagoda. Sometimes there are children playing, sometimes there are sitting anglers, sometimes there are beautiful songs.

The Mulong pagoda stands here quietly, inheriting Chinese civilization and telling its endless charm.
