📊 Market Update (12/12/25):
A divided Fed wasn’t a problem, but AI sustainability was. Tech tanks and dragged the market into the red erasing optimism post Fed meeting.It was really a bifurcated market: tech tumbled, but most other sectors actually ended green. Let’s quickly recap.

Markets drifted lower early in the week ahead of the Fed decision.But Wednesday’s announcement triggered a strong rebound.So, as expected, the Fed cut rates again in December by 25 basis points.While the committee was divided and still only forecasting one additional cut next year, the Fed did paint a more upbeat economic outlook and even restarting Treasury purchases.

That optimism, however, didn’t last long with AI sustainability fears surging back.New concerns that hyperscalers’ massive AI spending is squeezing profits paired with rising competition potentially pressuring chip margins So, tech moved sharply lower and that reversal pulled the broader market down with it.

So what now? The AI buildout will remain a key storyline with a couple of off-cycle earnings on deck next week. And we’re finally getting more delayed data with the November Jobs Report and CPI coming.Since October was canceled, these releases will help fill in the missing month and give us clearer visibility heading into January.
