Shore Sessions: Ep.3 - Catching Big Wrasse on Foraged Crab and Limpet Bait

There is nothing more rewarding than collecting your own free fishing bait and then using it to catch some fish! In this video Liam, Kieren & Sam head down to a rocky shoreline to forage and collect hardback crabs and limpets to use for bait. Liam also finds all sorts of interesting marine life in the rock pools and finds some cool shark and ray egg cases washed up on the shore.

Once the bait is collected, the team head to a rock mark to fish for Ballan Wrasse over rough ground. Kieren runs through a simple paternoster rig for Wrasse Fishing with some tips on how to minimise tackle and fish losses. The fish are on the feed and nailing the foraged bait with some really nice fish caught including a specimen sized Ballan Wrasse for Liam. Some bonus fish are caught too! Collecting your own fishing bait is fun and can result in some great catches!
