Water Lifting System With Bulls in Foggy Winter | Old Irrigation Technology

This video is about old irrigation technology of water lifting system. We will see how bulls operate water wheel irrigation system even in cold weather of foggy winter. Farmers use Bull powered Pakistani irrigation method in all extreme weather conditions efficiently.

This energy efficient irrigation system is disappearing with every passing day beacause new inventions and methods are replacing old technologies. These new methods are more efficient and time saving. However, many small farmers still prefer old traditional methods of irrigation. According to small land owners new irrigation systems are expensive to install and they cannot afford them to run on regular basis.
In this water wheel irrigation system bulls pull up water from water course or a well to irrigate the land. Farmers use a large metal wheel with buckets and tie it above the water source or well. Bulls or oxen move the wheel and fetch the water up. This water irrigation system is known as water wheel, persian wheel, rehat water wheel dhekli, rahat, jhallaar or jhatta etc in different parts of Pakistan, India and various other areas of the world.
