When my compressor was struggling to kick on even after replacing the capacitor, i wanted to install a hard start kit.

Mine is a 2 ton unit and I had a KickStart KS1 at the house but was not sure if it would harm my smaller unit since it says 3.5 to 5 tons. I called RectorSeal Customer Service and asked a rep named Scott.

Scott checked their tech specs and said the KS1 can be used on any compressor, up to 5 tons. The T05 is not designed for units over 3 tons.

When installing the unit, notice that the relay is to be mounted with the terminals down. In hard to read writing, engraved into the black plastic on the relay, on one side, it says this side up.
