When it comes to traveling around Norway, there are not very many options. The features that make Norway so amazing (the rugged landscape, breathtaking fjords, and amazing rivers and lakes) also make it a nightmare for travel.

One way you can travel around the country is via train. We took the Bergensbanen, the train that runs between Oslo and Bergen, and wanted to share our experience with you! With this train you will pass through amazing farming villages, run along serene mountain streams, pass by alpine lakes, stop at skiing and expedition communities, pass by amazing fjord views, and take in some of the best scenery that Norway has to offer.

All of this comes at a price though, and with so many other options for traveling by air, we wanted to answer one question: is this train journey worth it?
